A Real Person, A Lot Like You sits beyond your monitor


In the internet world sitting alone at our keyboards staring into our monitors, it becomes far too easy to forget that we are interacting with real, actual people. We can take something we’ve read, something somebody has told us, some opinion and get angry. It is really easy to do on-line because we do not have body language to help us interpret what is being said. Also, it is far too easy to make people abstractions, because we don’t see them or hear their voices it’s easy to pretend that they don’t really exist, or exist as some inanimate object just like our computers.

who have real feelings that can get hurt sitting beyond our monitors. Let us keep this in mind with every post, every comment, every status update, every tweet. Let the words of Jesus always be with us while we sit at our keyboards, “Do to others as you would like them to do to you.” Treat the person beyond the monitor as you want to be treated.
